Default Weight savings.

So I've seen bits and pieces spread through a bunch of threads but wanted to try and get a list together all in one place of different ways to save weight on the S. I'd like to try and put the list in order of about when each savings would occur (ex. remove spare tires, titanium exhaust, carbon doors) and have each entry include the total weight saved. I'll keep updating the first post so that it can act as a quick sheet eventually. Last give your thoughts on order, weight, and parts to be used (only the lightest 3 or so for each category).
Lbs are to be in lbs saved, not how much the part weighs.

Removal
Remove spare tire - 25 lbs
Tools - 10 lbs
Trunk Carpeting - 6 lbs

Exhausts
Top Secret Full Ti - 45 lbs
Veilside teardrop - 44.7 lbs
Amuse R1000 (header back) - 41 lbs

Header
Amuse - 15 lbs
J's Racing (w/o wrap) - 15 lbs
OBX - 13.8 lbs

Testpip - 8 lbs (any)

Flywheel
Competition - 5.4 lbs
Comptech - 5.2 lbs

16" Wheels

17" Wheels

18" Wheels

Seats (each)

Steering Wheel

Carbon Bumper

Carbon Fenders

Carbon Hood

Carbon Trunk

Yeah I fogot to add that, and to shower less. So that you're less likely to have willing passengers.

Does anyone know any of the stock weights for the seats, steering wheel, body panels, wheels (all versions)??

the only thing that sucks about removing weigh off the car is that is dispruts the 50/50 balance.

Does anyone know the weight of the stock wheels?

Tirerack has the following wheels with weights:

17" Kosei K1 TS - 13.7 lbs front 15.4 lbs back
17" TRMotorsport F3 - 15 lbs front 1.6 lbs back
17" WedsSport SA-90 - 19.5 lbs front 22.0 lbs back

18" OZ Ultraleggera - 18.4 lbs front 19.6 lbs back
18" SSR Professor SP1 - 22.1 lbs front 23.4 lbs back

versionJDM, you have a good point and I was thinking about that earlier. Part of the thinking behind the order of weight removal should not only be what is easiest/less-hardcore/least-expensive but should follow a balance. So remove some from the front, some from the back, front, back, front, back etc... Keeping in mind how much we are removing each time so that we can make it as balances as possible.

yeah, but I'd rather have maybe 45/55 with 2400-2500lbs than 50/50 with 2800lbs... I don't know why there aren't more people on here who are more involved in weight savings... especially for those who don't daily drive their S

There are a lot of people concerned about saving weight on the S. This is just the wrong forum to look.

Try the the Racing and Competition forum

Here is a search on there for everyone
