If I had a house and a garage, I'd get a hard top and completely remove the soft top. Then I'd buy ove of those CF soft top covers to cover the bare area when I removed the hard top.

But I don't have a house of a garage to store these in so it's a mute point.

Has anyone ever converted to manual soft top (removal of motor only)?

63 lbs is what I heard. So if you replace it with a hardtop (OEM or Mugen FRP) your net weight savings is 19lbs. give or take...

Oh, my bad. If my point doesn't speak though, it's also mute.

the soft top with glass and motor and frame weighs about 70lb... plastics, bolts and other items came in at 50lb~.... and if you wanna save weight, buy a stainless steel/titanium exhuast and only fill your tank half way, exhaust will save you 25lb~ and the half take shaves off about 50lb~

soft top complete with motors and frame is 90lbs and the oem hardtop is 47lbs... you dont need to remove the soft top to have a hardtop...unless you want the weight savings
