Unhappy Weighted Shift Knob Part 2

OK, so I got my TWM shift knob today, the Gun Blue Classic style. Easy to install, looks great, feels great too. Problem is it really isn't very much heavier than the stock shift knob, so the whole point of having a weighted shift knob is kind of dead in the water. It feels a few ounces heavier, but not so much that most people would notice a difference. Had I known this I would have spent the extra $25 on the ARC Titanium knob.

Lesson learned I guess.

Anyone else have any thoughts or experiences with this issue?

edit: I'm liking more and more when I get to drive with it.

I tried the heavy Skunk2 shift knob and didn't like it. Now I am using a stock countersunk knob and love it!

I believe countersunk makes more of a difference than weighted

In fairness, the TWM does sit lower than the stock knob does, which is nice.

I have Rick's Team VooDoo Titanium Shift Knob and have been pleased. I don't know what it weighs relative to the stock, leather covered knob, only to say it

hmm, my other fav shift knob. I'm diggin my ARC Ti, but wouldn't mind having the TWM for track days. The ARC is just too pretty to be banging gears with sweaty hands or gloves on. hehe

I also bought the Skunk2 and did not like it. Too heavy. I put it back in the box and use it as a paperweight, an expensive paperweight. Anybody try the titanium knob from Honda?

My OEM S2K knob weighs 8.4 oz., the Skunk2 which I tried, and didn't like, was about 15.5 oz. Just how heavy a knob were you looking for?

I like a light knob on the S2K but still haven't found the ideal. Mugen F1 type is 3.7 oz. but a little small. Voodoo Magnum is 6.1 oz., sits nice and low, but is a little too big. I'm probably gonna mod my Sparco Globe-X, 4.2 oz., good size, but sits too high.

My TWM supposedly weighs a little over a pound, in my hand it feels pretty close to the stock knob. I do love the fact that it sits lower, its nice to drive with. Maybe it's not so bad, it does look pretty damn good.
