Default Wetness In Trunk?

I took out the fake floor to the trunk and then pulled out the styrofoam thing that holds the tools and found the bottom carpet to be thoroughly wet.

Car is kept garaged and it hasn't rained for a while. Where could this be coming from???

This may not pertain to you, but I parked my car in the garage top down, its locked, and for about a week i would get in to a wet seat. Couldn't figure it out. Then my parents realized we had a stray kitten living in our garage who decided it would take its morning pisses on my seat!

scotchtape,

I had the same problem, but the cause was obvious. I had been hauling around bottles of water in plastic jugs. Had thenm in the trunk for quite some time. One day I noticed one of them had less water. Pulled up the mat and found a small lake.

Have you been hauling bottled water?

check the seals of the trunk thoroughly.. it has been posted before that people found a "wet trunk" and the seals were the problem, when it would rain, the rain would gather and find a way in!
hope you solve your problem

I recarpeted my trunk, so got it to bear metal. I found water in the middle hole area (not too much). I assumed it was water coming in from the bottom of the car because none of the carpet was wet when I took it out. I recaulked the oem calking areas which i think were faulty. Use silicon caulking. Have not checked it since.

you may have spilled some water or other liquid in the trunk in the pass without realizing. once water gets all they way down there, it really doesn't evaporate very well.

I get water in there if I put the top down when the top is still wet.
