Hi everybody,

I'm new to this board as I have just traded "up" from an Audi S3
to a new red S2000(!!). I went to the showroom and saw it and just
had to have it. Unfortunately, I'm having to wait until next Friday to pick her up
and while I'm waiting (it seems soo long!) I would love to here what you all
find is the best part of owning a Stook.

Best regards,

Gary.

Hi Gary,You'll love this car. The BEST thing is a forecast for the weekend that promises sunshine...then, pressing the button to take the hood down.Enjoy!

it's even better when you press the button to take the the top down, instead of the hood.

I'm trying to remember the MG terminology, seem my Midget's manual called the hood a "bonnet" and the top a "hood"...does the S2000 have a "translation" to use these terms?

To us limeys the hood is the soft top, the boot is the trunk and the bonnet is the thing the engine lives under (not sure what the american term for this is - hood?).

Ah, the beauty of language!

Oh, almost forgot, Petrol is Gas.

Cool!

One thing that is great is there seems to be very diverse origins
for the people on this board. USA, Puerto Rico, Australia, Germany
and the UK just at a quick glance. Much better than when I used to
own an MGF, mostly people from the UK, upset about the weather!

My Dad lives in Marietta GA (about 20 miles from Atlanta), I've got a
few other idiosyncrasies within our shared language:

Fender - Bumper.
Sidewalk - Path
Intersection - Crossroads
Sneakers(?) - Trainers
Freeway - Motorway
Trashcan - Dustbin
Aluminium - Alum-INUM
Zee (Z) - Zed

Not to mention the fact that when I visit my Dad, people think I sound
like Paul McCartney (Who is from LIVERPOOL!)

GT2000! Welcome to the board.
Fender=Bumber! Just out of curiosity, what would you call a *bumber*? enforcement?

Gary,

Besides getting a lot of attention from having a car that a lot of people still haven't seen, one of the best things is this board. I've met a lot of great S2000 owners and learned a lot of things from this board.

Actually, the members of this board kind of remind me of the Trojan family. I'm sure Trojan Horse can attest to that. There seems to be an instant camaraderie when you meet another S2K owner.
