Default What CAI would you recommend?

i just recently got my first honda s, and i want to put a CAI in it. i had a 2000 toyota celica before and i had an injen racing division intake in it, and it made it sound awesome and seemed to give it quite a boost in power. not that the s2000 needs to sound meaner lol, but whats the best out their that would give me the best performance increase?

AEM V2 is the best you can get for power, but you run the risk of hydrolocking. If you wan't to avoid that, the K&N FIPK and the Comptech both give decent gains and nice tone.

i wont be driving in the rain(hopefully) at all so hydrolocking isnt a concern

the k&n gives 9.55 hp

does anyone know how much hp the AEM v2 produces?

no one has verified that the k&n actually gives you anywhere near 9hp... but I do like the design.

I have an Injen CAI on my S and it sounds MEAN. The AEM and Injen have similar gains (very small)

Intakes on an S2000 are pretty much only good for sound and/or the elimination of heat soak (if you get the right one). Getting one because you are hoping for a decent amount of HP is pointless. This isn't an RSX Type-S, you won't gain 18hp by adding a CAI.

get the AEM CAI V1. It sounds and performs the best. No intake sounds better when hitting v-tec. To totally eliminate the chance of hydrolock, cover the hole under the hood and add a cheap heat shield to cover the top of the filter so no water would be able to hit it. The only way you'll hydrolock after that is if you drive through a 4 foot puddle.

While K&N claims 9.55 hp I don't think any independant dynos have backed that up. It's a general consensus that the difference between hp that intakes produce is minimal and you should pick the one that you think is the "purdiest" Here's another thread to help you out.

Owners of both the AEM V1 and V2 claim the car felt more responsive after switching to the V2.

I personally have the Comptech and besides for the foam filter I love it. This spring I'll be dropping an AFE filter in there. I would have gone with the K&N FIPK, but I really like the look of the Comptech (carbon fiber and all).

Why don't you like the foam filter? I had just decided on the Comptech!
