Default what car to get???

hey guys, i'm new here, but i've been checking out your site for a about a week now.
i currently drive a 99tl (nicely hooked up and all of couse) and soon i'll be in the market for a new car... I WANT SOMETHING WAY DIFFERENT THEN WHAT I DRIVE NOW,
1)less luxury,
2)MORE sport,
3)Much quicker,
4)two door,
5)Manual
6)Two seater
7)CONVERTIBLE MUST

i have no clue what car to get... however i have a few in mind... they might sound a bit dumb, considering i'm thinking about purchasing an s2000 or even the Mroadster... so i'm looking for any insight about these cars...
1)boxster
2)Mroadster
3)S2000
...insight that i'm not aware of yet... I AM AWARE of the massive price range between the three.
CAN ANYONE TELL ME HONESTLY, why or why not they'd get one or the other...
yes, i also know that the mroadster rips them all up when it comes to power, so maybe the porsche and the s2k are a better comparisson, but still try and help me out with all THREE.
i think the thing that appeals to me most about the porsche is that... WELL, IT'S A PORSCHE!!!!

thanks much for all the help, i'd truly appreciate it if you guys responded to me honestly,
and sorry for the LONG post... BUT HEY, IT'S MY FIRST

basically... nother than talking about price, or recommending me on going for the priciest one, can someone offer me some insight on what ONE of the cars might be BETTER/WORSE than the other...
what's each car the strongest on basically...
not knowing much about any of these cars, it seems as if the Mroadster blows them all away either by hp,acceleration, handeling and overall performance... IS THAT TRUE?

I think the best thing to do is test drive them all, and let the one that gives you the biggest smile be your choice.

Tommy,
I was also having the same dilemma about two months ago. I did a lot of research and found a great article at Edmunds.com comparing roadsters under $50K. Then I test drove the three cars you

Hey Tommy,

In December 1999, I went roadster shopping for the same cars on your list except that the M Roadster had "only" 240 hp.

I drove the BMW - the engine was silky smooth and pulled very well, but when I threw the car through some turns - bleh .

I drove the Boxster in the 2.5 liter and 2.7 liter varieties (Boxster S was not out yet). The standard Boxster has excellent seating for me and the handling was quick and well balanced. The 2.7 liter engine was the hands-down winner. Turbine-like power delivery and a wonderful engine sound coming from behind you, but I hadn't driven the S 2000 yet . If it matters to you as it did to me, it is difficult to access the Porsche engine for mechanical work. The Honda has some of the best access in any car that I've owned.

The combination of exciting handling and high-end power is what sold me on the Honda.

If I had it all to do over again today, I'd strongly consider the Boxster S, keeping in mind that you'll need to spend over $53k to match the features in the $33k Honda (H.I.D. lights, cruise control, etc.). If you go Porsche shopping, I recommend Dan at Champion Porsche, he was excellent to deal with. As for Honda dealers, I purchased mine from Coral Springs, but the helpful salesman that I used there is now gone. I've had good experiences with Brad (sales manager) at Largo Honda too.

Well...I was kinda in the same situation...

I didn't know if I wanted a sport car, a luxury car, or what not! When I decided to get a sports car, I knew that I wanted a convertable, cuz it would be my first! I was deciding on the Corvette, S2000, and the Boxster! After all was said and done...I chose the S2000...why?

Well...the Vette had to be one of the best cars that I have ever driven, but I refused to pay over $50k for a car, and have to put the top down myself!

The Boxster...its a Porsche...nuff said! But...I always see Boxsters everywhere I go! Since I got my car, I have seen 10 Boxsters, and I have yet to see another S2000...

The BMW is very nice, my mom wanted to get one! I have yet to drive it, but everyone tells me that it handles like poo!!!!

The S2000 is like a dream. The power is there, nuff room to sit comfortably (I'm 6'4), and it handles like its on rails! Plus, it's a Honda...

Hey! I know you! Whas up Tommy! Looks like you're crossing over to S2000 land too eh? I highly recommend the S2000 based on performance and price. I have a Boxster in my garage right now that I'm helping my bro-in-law sell. I cant bring myself to drive it anywhere b/c it just doesn't drive like the Honda. The Porsche has more luxury features and feels more like a lux mobile with performance features. The S2000 is a sports car with no extras, very spartan and to the point. Drive all the cars and see what you ulitimately like and want to pay for.

One added benefit of the S2000, this community and board is really cool. Good luck shopping!

hey CoralDoc, thanks a lot for the generous offer, i'll definitely take you up on that one for sure...
see, i thought a lot about what you said (oh and thanks for the sales man recommendation) and you made a lot of sense.
i looked at the porsche, and i love i think mainly cause i get to say i drive a porsche... like others said, PORSCHE... NUFF SAID!
the bimer... well, that beast is a BEAST, it's fast and furious, but i'm not too sure if i'm feeling that ratty look it has to it.
the s2k is a car that will look amazing with the right drop, rims, fogs, and spoilers, (back, sides, front)
the only problem is... I SAY I DRIVE A HONDA... on first reaction, as a opposed to the other cars i want, i'll be hearing, "oh, honda, which one, the civic?" or, "why would you get a honda after your acura?"
but like others have said also, i get everything i basically am looking for in a car, for under 40k, (after my mods)
i also feel it's a waiste on getting a 36k car when i can actually get a 50k car... lol, not to sound rude, or cocky, but it juts doesn't make sense to not take advantage of the other 10 grand i can spend... AND NO, I WILL NOT SPEND IT ON MESSING UP THE S2K WITH DUMB MODS LOL.
thanks again,
~Tommy,
HEY YU888, I KNOW YOU TOO
U GETTIN' AN S2K OR WHAT????
