Trying to figure out what this thing is wired into my s2k. You can see a red light and a reader/jumper slot that stores a data card with 5 contacts. The card that is in it is numbered: 1 E2000-EP-P14
I couldn't find anything but thought someone here might be familiar with whatever this thing is.

I asked my friend who's a professional technician and he said it's an old school "security" device. Basically aftermarket junk that does nothing. I'd remove it.

Yeah that sounds about right. The original owner purchased it with the snake oil electronic anti-rust system as well. which I disconnected immediately after buying it.

Electronic anti rust? I'm afraid to even ask.

Something like this attached to the chassis scaring the rust goblins away. I guess my s2k has no rust so maybe it does work. j/k

They actually are known to be effective, i'm not sure of your location, but i live on a small island in the Atlantic ocean... I'm not saying I would install it on my S2000, but i've seen positive results from customers who have used them

Made me go out and look up some tests for this as I have never heard of automotive electric rust prevention. Almost everything I saw than ran tests came back negative. Just not the same as cathodic vessel protection.
