I was coming out of Home Depot today after picking up supplies for the windscreen job, and saw this guy get out of a black 'Vette that was parked a few spaces from my S2000. I noticed him do a double take as he walked by the Honda, then pause to check it out. We started talking as I came up. He'd never seen one before and was just completely blown away. I popped open the hood to show the engine and explain its design -- RPMs, HP, etc and he couldn't believe it. He said, "What'd it cost? $60,000? When I told him the price he was incredulous. "Fantastic machine" he concluded. I complemented his 'Vette but he wasn't interested in talking about it. As he walked away, he kept turning around to steal looks at the car.

Get used to it Rick.

This car allows you to have your 15-minutes of fame everytime you drive it.

The Viper (aftermarket Turbo)owner and C5 (Callaway twin turbo) owner were really into my S2K at the last track day. They liked it even more after sharing the track and trying to catch it during hot laps.

Yes, their 400+ HP and DOT race tires did eventually catch me, and I waved them by. They commented that it was much harder then they anticipated...

The guy in the Boxter 2.5 (still a GREAT looking car, IMHO, black & tan leather...) looked with envy after being thoroughly spanked.

Most people do guess way high on the price.

Enjoy basking in the glory of S2K ownership. I had never expected for this car to cause such a ruckus ... but it does ... and it's fun .

Ahem, with what, 1750 miles, Brad!? That brings your 15 minutes of fame to maybe about 2 1/2 minutes!

I do still get the comments and occasional stares but I think it died down considerably compare to what I use to get a year ago.
It was crazy back then, at one time me and my girlfriend were sort of making out in the car parked but one individual had nerve to come to us at busy time and interrupt us to ask some questions about the car. Awe stares from so many cars made her little bit uneasy.
I guess it being a convertible people are also seem to be easy to roll down the windows and start talking to you.

How about people following you?

That's happened a few times. . .once with a Civic Si. The guy was extremely excited about the car! He knew everything about it! I was impressed that he actually even noticed. Where I live, there are several "exotics" and little notice is paid to my S2000! Not that I care. . .I did'nt get it for that reason!
