What did you do when you got hit?
I knew I wasn't going to be able to stop in time. I locked up the fronts, threw up my ebrake, cut the wheel and I still didn't have enough room to stop. Ended up taking out my front driver's side corner and put a small dent in her truck. But during the whole thing, I'm sitting their cursing, and then immediately after there was a lot more louder cursing and hitting of the steering wheel, but after I got off the phone with 911 I was pretty calm. Got out, asked if everyone was ok, then started to assess the damage.
i always trip out but then you chat w an older more mature person, in my case my dad and the remind you how small of an issue it really is over all. T'sall good brah, thats what body shops are for
Poor choice of words, I didn't actually lock them up, but it was wet and I lost traction in the front, then I hit the ebrake. I had a row of cars on my left and the curb/posts on my right, there wasn't any room for me to maneuver.
Yeah, not only had it just rained, and only a little so that the road was nice and wet/oily, but she turned in front of me from about 50 ft. away. Claimed that she couldn't see me because of the line of cars that was next to me.

What I've found is threshold braking goes a lot further than ABS + ebrake.
The stopping distance actually increases with ABS. When ABS kicks in I back off the pedal until it goes away. In a sedan this winter I had to flip it sideways on ice/snow and 4 wheel power drift out of an accident.
The hard and fast rule for this question is "Don't get in a situation where you have an accident" which sounds like a dick thing to say but in fact conditions exceeded your ability to stop. So the right response would be to have increased your following distance.
You're alright, car can be fixed and thankfully it didn't end up being a multi-car pile up.

No wrecks, but the other day I came as close as I ever have.
Car ahead of me, with a truck in front.
A vehicle turns across the road, causing truck + car to slam on their brakes
Truck starts going again.
Car that was behind the truck just sits in the middle of the road.
Now I'm quite a ways back so I was slowing down, and watching the whole thing, but that car just sat in the fukkin road, so I break heavily, as I'm coming up on it.
Eventually abs starts to kick in, and what's weird is that I noticed the whole time during heavy breaking I was downshifting, basically using engine braking as well. From 6-3-2-1. I seriously think it could have saved me. At least seemed like it helped.
I do some weird things in heavy situations haha,
Another time (quite a while back) I was driving in the rain on not-so-good tires (bad I know) and while taking a large swooping turn, rear end kicked out (was absolutely not trying) I tried counter steering, and eventually I spun, as my rear was creeping up on the curbside, I threw it in second and began giving a little throttle, while counter steering.
Then I spun AGAIN and the front of my car was sliding in the direction of the curb, so I threw it in reverse and gave a little throttle LOL.
I somehow got away without hitting/damage so I am very thankful.

I wasn't following anyone, she turned across my lane of traffic.
