Default what did you pay?

In addition to my long-winded question in the previous thread.
What have any of you payed for new '04 models? I live in Los Angeles and one dealer was asking the exact $33 & change that I've seen on Edmunds. The dealership that I test drove one at today, however, was marking them up $5,000! I actually laughed in the guy's face. None of you guys are paying premiums on these things, right? Anyone get out the door closer to $30? Invoice is supposedly around $29.

Thanks.

I bought my '04 just last week...

$600 Over Invoice + $200 Document Fee was my deal in Cleveland, TN (near Chattanooga). This was a little better deal than what I was offered in Chattanooga and Dalton GA and a considerably better one than what the Woodstock GA (northern ATL suburb) dealer would do.

Could have bought a Sebring Silver w/red & black interior @ Lanier in Buford GA for invoice ($29,995) with all fees included! But the Silverstone on all-black was far-and-away my first choice, so I was willing to spend the extra $'s so I wouldn't regret my decision later. If anyone's looking for a light silver on red/black (46 miles on the ODO) in Atlanta, that appears to be one heck of a deal. Good luck to all..

Thanks for the replies. Anyone else in the Los Angeles or San Diego area care to comment? I still can't believe those guys were trying to get away with a five-grand mark-up. More power to them if some poor soul bites, but then again, they're going to lose anyone with half a clue.

I bot a slightly used MY04 (silverstone) for $28K out-the-door from a local dealer in LA. It had only 900 mi on it. They threw in the Honda 7 yr/100,000 mi warranty, and the tags had already been paid. I thought that was a decent deal.

I think dealer invoice is high slightly under $30K. If you look around and negotiate, you can get a brand new one pretty easily for about $30.3K in this area.

trick is, you can't go through a salesman. you have to jump to the sales manager.

try autobytel.com; many sales managers use that. say you have an offer for $30,995 (you do, through s2ki and hardtopguy), and ask if they can beat it. you will likely get a bite.
