What is the difference between S02's and the Pole Positions?

I'm not sure, but I bet that the PPs probably use a different rubber compound (as compared to are OEMs at least) that most likely is not as grippy.
I believe that the PP has the dual layer tread that wasnt found on the regular S02.
I'm not sure about the grooves, as I think that has something to do with the S02 OEM tires for Honda S2000 and for Porsche. I think the grooves are the same for an S02 (non oem) vs the S02pp... I might be wrong though.
A friend of mine has a 944 Turbo with the S02s and was telling me that the front spec OEM 225 is actually almost as wide as his 245 at the rear...
sounds like our S2000s
Of course, I see that you are not running stock sizes, so I guess I just typed all that stuff for nothin'
so, I guess the big difference is the dual layer tread...
feel free to add and/or correct me if I am wrong.

I was under the impression that the PP's where supposed to be better wet weather tires. I assume that's the answer when i bought my first replacement set from tire rack i was reading the information for both tires and the PP's seem to be a redesign of the OEM S-02's for better wet weather traction...correct me if i'm wrong or verify on tire rack
Yes. The PP is actually wider than normal SO2.
I've 265/35/18 SO2 PP rear tire on my NSX and my friend
has the same size normal SO2 rear tire on his NSX. It's obvious enough to tell my rear tires are significantly wider than his through naked eyes.
Also, the PP provides better performance in wet.

Wait a sec. If you compare all three at the same size (225/50 r16) then the OEM SO-2's are the widest with the most contact area, the SO-2 PP's are the narrowest with the least amount of contact area. Then there are the other SO-2's that I havnt taken measurements on.
Yes the PP's are a great improvement in WET traction, but at the cost of dry performance, and not just a little. The S2000 gets a little wishy washy with the PP's in the rear(225/50) They are a whole inch narrower than OEM, thats on top of the wider water grooves.
There are at least 3 different types of SO-2's
Sorry, I should say that the rear OEM are the widest, seems that the front SO-2's are the "standard" SO-2's
But the rears are very different.
