What a difference a day makes!
Actually you could do some field work for us with 17" rims.
We know for a fact the 18" Boxster S takes the S-02 "N1" there is a N2 but that is for a different car. We need to know if the 17" S-02's for the Boxster S is the "N3" or the "N4". I have yet to just pick up the phone and call a Porsche Dealership. Thats about all it would take. Lazy ass that I am.
Nobody seems to know the answer to this question!!!
Nice picture Jenner!!! Hear them POP?
And that is with the STOCK suspension. If you went lower you would need coilovers and a stiffer setup so the suspension travel is less so you don't blast those buttons out!

Just be carefu - the OEM S02 for the S2000 is the same size as the 16" Boxster OEM but has a different tread pattern and compound.
I would not be confident that the OEM 18" Boxster S02 is necessarily suitable for the S2000.

The 17 inch S-02 for the Boxster is an "N4" designation.....how do I know....I am in sales for The Tire Rack (my name there is 'Mason').

I have the 17" S0-2, N-4's currently mounted on a set of BBS RG-R's. Sizes 205/50/17 front and 255/40/17 rear. Actually, they say S0-2A on the sidewall, which I believe indicates a special treadpattern specific to the Ferrari 360 Modena, and Porsche.
The S0-2A's look different than our Honda OEM S0-2's. Don't expect to see the familiar "snake skin" tread pattern. Instead the treadpattern looks almost like the S0-3 (there are some minor differences). I've used S0-3's, and personally didn't like them because the sidewall seemed too soft, and definately slower to respond when compared to the OEM S0-2's (in my opinion), so I was kinda of leary of the S0-2A when I first saw them.
I just had them put on the car this past weekend, and after two sunny days, it has rained everyday since. Although I've only had them for a few hundred miles, my initial impressions are that the S0-2A "N-4" is a good tire. For me, they are definately better than the S0-3, and perhaps equal/close to the Honda OEM S0-2. They seem to have some of the positive characteristics of the S0-3's (like being very good in the rain), combined with some of the positives of the OEM S0-2 (stiff sidewall, more responsive, soft compound - treadwear rating 140). I guess think of the S0-2A as a S0-3 treadpattern skinned over a S0-2 compound.

I think bridgestone dropped a 17" tire!!! They only list 1 17" S-02!!! I know they had 2 sets up there before! One set was for the boxster and one set for the Boxster S. I gotta wonder now if there is even a N-3 available!
SSX let me know how you like the N4's compared to S-02's in cornering and when being pushed HARD. If I am not happy with buying a set of N4's my only other option I am considering is Race Cups. That is a big leap! Not sure if I want to go there just yet.
Mitch:
Can you confirm the pattern differences and the fact that the N3 is for the Boxster S?
