What Do Driveshaft Spacers Do?
So, supposedly they reduce the strain on the driveshaft on lowered cars.
What I don't get is, why would there be extra strain on the driveshaft if you lower your car? I can understand if you only lowered either the front or the back, but since you are lowering the entire car, then how does the position of the driveshaft change relative to the diff?
Am I missing something????

Uh...I was talking about the driveshaft spacer, not wheel spacers.

Well your driveshaft came from the factory designed to connect your diff and wheel ... a certain length
when you lower the car the wheel attachment point goes higher (because the car is lower, wheel level is unchanged) so naturally the diff is lower.... so you gotta have longer driveshafts so there is less strain

Someone else can clarify the details for you. Yes, the 'whole car' is lowered, but technically the wheel/hub assembly is not. They are always a certain height above the ground, determined by tire size, etc. Therefore, the axles are dropped in relation to the hub where one end of the axle connects. I am assuming these spacers alleviate stresses due to the changed geometries.

For some reason I thought the driveshaft spacers were for the shaft from the transmission to the diff, not from the diff to the wheels :|
Is that called a driveshaft too? Why don't they call those spacers axle spacers (would make more sense)...
