Default What do you drive for your Winter Car/Beater?

I was wondering what everyone drives for their winter Beater car? I just picked up my winter car a few weeks back.

Its a 1997 Saab 900SE Turbo 2.0 with 182,000 miles. $3450 +450 for tires.
Not a bad deal.

I know thats a ton of miles, but this puppy has heated seats, sunroof, leather seats, dual airbags, ABS. Plus, its a hatchback so its like having a pickup truck.

This Turbo engine really hauls too! Those swedes know how to get power out of a small displacement engine. Still now substitute for my S2k. Parking my baby in my Grandma's garage for the winter

'89 Mazda MX6 GT Turbo
115,000 miles, no rust, paid $1500 for it a few months ago. What a steal. Bone stock with no mods, very clean engine and interior looks new. I owned an '87 Mazda RX7 Turbo so it's sort of a deja vu here. Has three different shock settings and a sport/economy mode for the tranny (yes, it's an a/t).

For my winter "car"? A beat up 1981 Ford F-150 with over 150K miles. Of course, I only have to drive a couple of miles to work and any day it isn't raining is top down weather in this part of the country.

My daily driver 'winter' car is my S2000. But then again, it's kind of like summer all year long down here.

Jeff

Looking forward to top-down driving in January, when I can finally turn off the AC

Before last winter I picked up a new Focus ZX3 from my local Ford dealer when they came out with the low financing. It's red (not my first choice), but it was the only one they had with nothing on it, the only option I have is AC. Nothing better than cranking down the windows. Wish I could have afforded a nicer 2nd car, but hey, I'm only 23 and I only make so much money. Thanks to the p's for letting me live at home rent free, I'm able to keep my S out of the rain/sleet/snow. Focus is actually a nice driving car...I'd recommend it....

The S2000 IS my winter beater, and my spring beater, and my summer beater, and my fall beater.

My beater was an '86 Acura Integra with 190,000 miles on it. I owned it most of the time I had my '00 S2000 and part of the time with the '02 S2K. It was a GREAT commuter car but it started (significantly) giving up on me in April so I gave it away and replaced it with a MINI Cooper .

The S2000 would be a blast to drive EVERYDAY but my commute is long and there are too many dumptrucks around here

VA S2K,

Give me some input on the Mini Cooper. I have been considering the Cooper S or the Toyota Matrix for a daily driver.

Thx,
