Default What do you guys think about this?

*Mods* move this to the right area if its misplaced, i wasnt sure where to put this.

At first I think I was blinded from excitement of finding a used Invidia Q300 after searching for a few months, and I get this PM, after some conversation, Its starting to sound sketchy, what do you guys think?

Guest, ZERO posts on the forum, the more I think about it, the more legit it doesnt sound.

Heres the convo

Get a photo, phone number and use PayPal. Doesn't sound any more or less sketchy then any of the random for sale stuff here.

No, I don't really see what is so sketchy about it, other than he is selling it for a "friend". I think he is saying to send it to his paypal and that is his paypal email address.

Well, its that hes not a member, he made the account a day before he contacted me, and hes not the one with the exhaust, but wants me to send money to his paypal account.

Atleast other members, have posted on the board before, atleast look like active members, have pictures, will try to sell the item, and not just PM someone who has posted in the WTB section.

To me, it sounds like someone was looking through the WTB section, found someone to say they had what they were looking for, will sell it for about what im offering, notice he asked what will I pay, and not, hes selling it for X amount of dollars.

Ive bought everything for my car from someone on this site, but I dont have a good feeling about this guy, I feel like if i paypal him the $550, ill never hear from him again, nor have an exhaust show up at my front door

Have him post pictures of the item with a piece of paper stating his user name.

Red flags. Get pics. Talk to the owner instead.

Get a phone number and talk to the owner directly, the user name on a paper with a photo is a great idea also.
