I have upgraded my MY03 console into an MY07 and I must say that this shaped area around the shifter is useless for coins. The figures on my Vbox and graphs, produced by the sensors, shows that if the car accelerates with 0.4 of G-Force, then the grip fails to hold these coins.

If the trim could only be a bid sharper aka squared U type then it could be more useful. Anyway my S is for weekend joy rides and for track every week.

The problem with putting anything there is as soon as you go fast around a turn whatever you placed in the U ends up on the floor

I don't care if it rains or freezes; that's where I put my plastic Jesus.

I would get one of those no-slip pads, cut it up to fit, and put my cell phone on there...but I have an 08 so I have the incredibly useful passenger side dash pocket.

Go to HomeDepot or Lowes and buy the stuff you line toolbox drawers with. I put it in my truck box to keep my junk from sliding around.
