to hit the start button?
think about it for a second before you answer... i did a bit today and started paying attention - i use the middle finger cause i just kinda reach in that direction and that's the first one that hits it. do you make a point to use your thumb or forefinger? yeah i was bored today, but still... which one do you use?

 

mostly thumb, sometimes forefinger...middle feels a little unorthodox for me

 

Index finger ? Maybe the middle finger (tend to use that alot with CA drivers)...Now I'm not sure...I'll have to check in the morning...

 

ALWAYS my index finger. Uneducated passengers who ride with me in the car always call me a "showoff" for using the button to start the car, thinking that it can also be started using the conventional turning of the key in the ignition.

The real thing to remember -- for me anyways -- is *NOT* to use any finger when I'm driving my wife's '01 Dodge Ram diesel 4x4 Couple times since I've had my S, I've had to jump up into her truck & drive it (screwy especially at night!) to one place or another...and I'll spend a half a flippin' minute turning the key over only two clicks and then mashing my finger into the dashboard on the left side of the truck's steering wheel.

BTW, when I am in my Spa, I typically fire her up using my index finger.
