How much does this shifter shorten the throw. Compared to short shifter? I would like the short shifter but it seems quite expensive for something I may not like anyway. I know Voodoo has an option for counter sinking the knob and that some of us love it, so I am interested in ranking the three both for feel and cost. Anyone?

Each shift knob is countersunk as deep as it can possibly go. There is set screw in the stem of each knob for easy alignment of the shift pattern. A short shifter should make your shifts shorter than a countersunk knob but by how much I don't know. Most people find the countersunk knob to be an amply sufficient improvement over the stock knob as far as improved shift feel goes.

I just installed the Team Voodoo knob with the Pearl Aluminum finish from Rick's.

It does shorten the throws noticeably, but the biggest benefit (in my opinion) is that it looks much better. The finish is a good match for the radio door. It also just "feels" better (except when it's very, very cold).

A great mod for the money ($40).

I agree... I love mine, just got it for Xmas. Range from 35-135 depending on material and finish. I got the Pearl Aluminum 40$ and feel great and looks awesome. http://www.ricks2k.com/products/shiftknob.php for Rick and his products.
