I am the proud owner, for the last 6days, of an '01 Black on Black and have a question. At hard revs it feels like the car is going to shake apart. Is this somewhat controlled with an different exhaust? I realize that this is a track car for the street, but this is total sensory overload. My girl gets a "headache" whenever I give her a ride!
The other question I have is this. One side of the top seems to fit tighter than the other. If I try to latch the left first, it will not engage. With the right latched, the left is easy to get into place. Is this evidence that it is bent? I was not the owner for the first 1200 miles. Do you think the former guy f***ed it up?

Hi Navnurs

I think something is wrong with your S2000. My black/black S2000 spins to 9000+ rpms quickly and smoothly. The top should fit snugly on both sides. Are you getting any wind or water leaks from the top?

NavNurs,

Not sure about the revs to 9k...mine feels great, it's probably vibrating a bit, but I'm having to much fun to notice. As for the top, mine is exactly the same way(drivers side is super tight), and I unwrapped it myself from the factory. Now that I have had the car for a few weeks, the top is starting to act in a more uniform matter. Your's will probably straighten out as well. Haven't had any trouble in the rain.

Make sure you check your oil. She's probably burning some if you are under 5000 miles.

If it's vibrating that violently you should get it checked right away.

At least she does't complain before you give her a ride.

Something sounds wrong. My car has no vibrations what so all in any RPM range. That is one thing I love about it, it's a very solid car. I would have it checked out ASAP.

Something is definitely wrong here. You should not be getting any "violent" vibrations at 9K. A stock S2K should rev smoothly to redline. You should not be feeling any vibrations.

Take it in and have it checked out.
