I was told invoice was 29,400 for the '04's when they came out. But I know the real invoice is prolly a little cheaper than that.
MY05 is 29,800 invoice + 515 dest or 30,335. But people have done better.
I just closed on what I would think is a good deal. I'm getting it for $30,200 shipped. I was quoted $29,500 from another dealership but with shipping it would be $30,600. Not a big difference, but shipping would take longer with the latter dealership.
If you have employee pricing you should be able to get it much lower. But I think that the $28,000 prices are pretty rare. I don't think dealerships would start letting go of their S2000s that easily when they won't be receiving any new '05s (at least that's what I'm told) and not receiving the '06 for another couple of months.

Tally, you need better eyes
. There, fixed for you.

You should take a look at this thread which is two down from yours at the moment:
Advice - $27,300 for New 2005?
Basically a dealer is offering him a brand new 2005 S2000 for $27,371. Take it for what it is worth, this is the internet.

I have a son-in-law that works for a dealership and was able to get my '05 for 29,900. When the sales guy was writing it up, he seemed to be surprised his boss told him to give me that price. To me, that means the going price must be a bit higher than that.
Financed myself with a credit union, so they didn't make a dime on that.
Just my $.02

Invoice on the 05 is about $30,300. They also have a holdback to work with, so the absolute break-even for the dealer is around $29,500. If they go lower than that they are losing money (and they will go lower if the car has been on the lot a long time and they're paying interest on the inventory).

I paid under 28k for my 05 rio new. And i got an 6% interest rate. I was going to get a siverstone but they would not come off the sticker price of that one. They did say the rio had been there a while and if they did not sell it then it would be rotated to another dealership, which i thought was just BS.
