Default What mods are best bang for the buck?

Just got a S2K, new to honda tuning. What would be the best money/power ratio mod for the s2k? No force induction just bolt on mods. buddy of mine in a mini copper s wants to race, hes getting exhaust, intake, pulleys, chip. They come 160 or so stock but supposedly with all those mods hes going to push 245. what do you guys think?

This has been covered before, with most people pointing to the fact that you simply will not gain alot with i/h/e without tuning it. Not gonna happen. Best mod for accel is weight savings and gears. You have an 04 though so im not sure how your car will react to the gears. Get yourself an AEM CAI, Toda or Spoon header and single exhaust and then tune it all with a vafc. Results will vary.

A single side exhaust (T1R or GP Sports) and an intake (K&N Aircharger, Comptech Icebox or AEM V2) will run you about $750-1000 and give you about 10whp. $75-100 per horsey = not that great of a bang for the buck. Nothing beats forced induction. $5000 S/C kit / 100whp gain = $50 per horsey.

I've got a T1R exhaust on my '04 and I felt a nice gain in power. Nothing spectacular, but noticable. I don't have an intake yet and to be honest, I'm not quite sure it's worth it. If I do get one, I'll probably go with a K&N Aircharger with cold air box for $250. It's similar to the Comptech intake, but it doesn't have a top over the box and doesn't have fancy carbon fiber.

I wish they had an ECU upgrade for the '04, but not yet.

None, if you wanna mod your car you should have bought something boosted from the factory. Then you can have a lot of fun and actually see the results of your mods. With an S2000 mods are just waste of money.
Just my 0.2!
