Default What octane are you running?

I've been recently told that in the midwest US and in parts of California 91 octane is the best fuel rating that is offered ?

That is the most absurd thing I've heard ?

Can anyone validate this ?

Personally, I think we are blessed in Canada in that we can put 94 octane in our tanks. I notice a difference in that it may burn quicker but it produces more "umph"..

Here in California, 91 Octane is the top for all major brands except Unocal 76 - some stations offer 100 octane racing gas.

91 here in San Diego...I'm sure its like that everywhere in California though. I haven't seen any 76s that offer 100...

Amaco is the only station that I've found that has 92....everyone else is 91 here in the land of the wizard.
