If you want your clutch to last you awhile, in between 1,800 - 2,200 rpm's.

You can not change the gear ratio's inside the transmission. You would have to alter the final drive, which would affect all the gears, not just one gear.

Under most conditions, a 6K dump will be perfect.

Changing the final drive gear does help in our cars. There's many to choose from, 4.3, 4.4, 4.56, & 4.77. Choose what fits your needs and enjoy. I believe the whole process will end up leaving a $1k dent in your wallet minus the core charge for the differential.

somewhere in vtec.. depending on the conditions of the road im on i either:

a: sit at 6000 rpms and dump the clutch
b: sit just under 6000, around 5800 and dump the clutch
c: sit at around 6500-7000 and dump the clutch

make sure to dump the clutch tho, not slip. slipping it from that high of an rpm is a good way to burn it out quickly.

also, the S is not the best car to launch in, so make sure you launch high enough to break the tires free to reduce some of the stress your differential will take.

make sure you preload before you dump the clutch.

stop and roll an inch or two to make sure everything is touching so there will be less stress everywhere

With an ap2 with 4.57's like my set up, at 6k you sit and spin way to long before you hook. I had better luck at 4500 rpm to get out of the hole. I lost too many races in the 1/8th mile because of that. Also, I have the stock bridgestones which I hear are shit for launches. I did lower my pressure to about 24lbs. in the rear, too.

I dumped the clutch at 8,500. And it pulled a 2.10 short time.

Jest be careful. After a night at the track and launching at 6 or 7k about 5 times my axle snapped and it's happened to others also.
