With any sports car, it all depends on where you live. Alarm and Lo-Jack are just measurements to give the burglars something to play around with. It helps to have, and lowers insurance rate, but if a smart burglar knows what they'll have your car taken and stripped easily without any problems. So when you ask what is the s2k's theft rate it's pretty low, considering most s2k owners have alarm or low-jack. Also this is not a cheap car, thus MOST live in pretty safe neighborhoods instead of the ghetto slums of the inner city.
I've seen cars get ganked/stripped at my college during the night, and they are just simple little civics, integras, celicas, and mustangs with interior/exterior parts. So if you have things people want then sure your car has the chance of being burglarized. Don't let this stop you from buying the car, because this car owns!.

Get the best you can afford.
I would expect vandalism is more of a threat than theft.

see the problems with preventions, IE: Alarms/Wheel Locks/Steering wheel locks.. is that if the person who wanted to steal your car or take your rims, cant do it... they will just slash your tires of cut your top or key up your car. See, the key to your car not being stolen or vandalised is to not part the car in a bad area, and always part underneath some lights in an open area.

The key to protecting any kind of personal belonging is layering. Do a search on security or something like that.
