Greg

Modify the picture with the same IP and put on it some form of disclosure --- like, "this car really is a pile of shit" or substitute Scarlet I for the picture --- that would be better!!!!

Greg,

if they don't remove the pic of your car and they sell their car (which they try to inform the bidder that the car in the pic is the same one they are selling) you are entitled to some commission; unless you waived that right off some place in the past explicity with River Oaks.

If they sell the car before you give your consent, or them removing the pic, try to get something from them. It'll probably work out better if you go in with the nice guy routine rather than I'm gonna sue you angle.

See if you can get a wind screen from them.

PS. I know that you already have one, but I don't. . .

If it bothers you, ask them to stop.

I'd be flattered they used my picture and then forget about it.

Not quite. There is a disclaimer in the Description: ....(NOT ACTUAL CAR SHOWN).

Use a .htaccess file to stop people hotlinking your pics. Just for fun re-direct them to your URL of choice.

Greg Although I can tell that you are less than happy with the fact that your picture was used without your permission, I am of the opinion that you are probably powerless to do anything. Pictures posted freely on the internet essentially become "public domain". Be flattered that they used your picture, even though owning a red car is a sign of a disturbed mind.

Not true. Pictures posted on the internet are owned by the copyright holder (usually the person that took the picture, unless they've assigned their rights somehow).

If you own the copyright in your picture, you are allowed to determine how often and where your picture is published/copied/etc.
