Default What should my next engine be?

So i currently have pretty bad rod knock and i kno im going to have to work on it reguardless so i was debating between 3 options.

first one is to stroke it with the J's 2.2. since its jus forged OEM parts i'd figure it make it stronger, but i hear a stroked motor is not good for street, and eventually cause more headaches. I sometimes take this car out on the weekends but rarely, its mostly in the garage. the kit cost about 2k with 4-6month ETA.

the second is to replace it with a f22. problem with this is i dont know how the previous owner treated it and im concerned that it can possibly blow on me anytime soon or i get another rod knock unless i buy on new.

the last option is just to fix the f20 that i currently have but replace the oil jet bolts (so i dont burn oil since i have a MY01). im not really leaning toward this option jus cuz i want something new and different.

if i go the stroker route im planning to build it with TODA cams, cam gears, retainers, and valve springs. i'll prolly buy a beater if i go the stroker route since i wont be able to drive mine. let me kno wht ur opinion is and wht you think i should do thanks.

Hmm... how much are you looking to spend? Are all three options around the same price?

I would go with a wild combo, like Brian said, to match your car's appearance.

I say build it, but that will not be cheap. Depends on what the budget will be.

if i decide to build it money isnt going to be too much of a factor since the j's stroker kit wont arrive for at least 6months. So JDM/asian time in actuality maybe 8-10months, so i have time to save up. Thats also why I like this option, give me some time, but the downside is I cant drive my S for a 8mons-a year

Of course rebuilding the engine would be cheaper, the f22 would prolly run me a little more but again its kinda taking a gamble.
