Default what size 17's

first off im not sure if this is the right forum i didnt see a suspesion specific forum so here it goes

now iv got a kinda a weird question, see iv got some volk te37s on my itr right now and i absolutly love them, now they are 17x7.5 +40 offset now my question is can i use these on a s2000 i intened on buying a s2000 as soon as i sell my itr, like whould i need to get spacers or what could i do , or are these just totally wrong offset or wrong width, will there be ill affects from having same width rims in front and back, like i was thinking i whould get 215-45 17s in front and if i could 245-45-17s in the back, or do you guys think i could find somone to trade one of my wheels for a wider wheel
sorry for all the questions
and thanks for any help

You need wider rear wheels on an S2000. You can find much more info on tire and wheel sizes and the correct offsets in the Tire and Wheel Forum.

I imagine it would be almost impossible finding someone to trade wheels with.

Why not sell the wheels with the ITR and just buy new wheels and tires for the S?

Good luck.

The offsets on those wheels are too low, if you ran those up front you would have a good chance of rubbing. Unfortunately the S requires wheels with a high offset. Spacers wouldn't help cause that would lower the offset further (making the wheel stick out from the fender more)

Also you need a staggered setup. Wider in the rear than front. So lets say you put the 17x7.5's in front, then you would need something wider in the rear (i.e. 17x8.5). I've read about people running the same width all around, but you risk messing up the handling characteristics. As for offsets, try and start with +50 and higher. The rear could use a even higher offset. Basically the higher the better with the S.

As a reference the 2004 runs the following.

Front.
17x7.0
215/45-17

Rear
17x8.5
245/40-17

Like allkingz said, visit the Tire and Wheel forum for further advice. Hope this helps.

the offsets that come in te37s for the s2000 are

17x7.5 +48
17x8.5 +50

recently, the te37s came out in better offsets for the rear,
but these offsets are only offered in one color, Mercury Silver

17x7.5 +48
17x9.0 +65

Or they were fake and had Volk stickers on them. Seen that plenty of times.
