What things to look for when buying a car
Before you hit "Back" when you realize it is another idiot in the market for an S2000, let me get out a few things that were not brought up in the post about why to get an S2000.
I am not to crazy about the payments they are quoting me on a new one so I was thinking about maybe a year or 2 old one.
1. What are the differences I should know that I wont realize by looking at them between the years. All I really know is the glass rear window thing.
2. Is it true that they have isues as far as the engines blowing or trannys going at 50k miles?
I now have an 03' Acura CL that is preety much maxed out in my opinion in under a year. So, I am not blowing smoke like some that you think, like the ones that say "I will get one 5 years or so after I get out of medical school and get on my feet a bit, so I am looking now for a car. I will post some older pictures of my car before my body kit install. I really am bored of FWD and automatic.
Please dont flame my ass because I am a "newbee". I am sure I will get some "use the search button dumb ass" and "just keep what you got!" Because they are just as ruthless on the CL board.
By the way, isnt $33k way too much for an 02' with 18k miles on it. That is waht the dealer came back with as a price and called it "fair market value". I said fair market piss off.

I just visited a dealer here in CA looking for my S2K...2002 w/ 30K miles...$29990....robbery. Although...it did have the hard top...it doesn't mean much to me because I'm installing a Bitter Bar as soon as I get it. They went to $27,500...but that was still too much. I pay $1500 more and I get a new one that no one has touched....shop around, you WILL find a better deal.
"Aeroscreen and Carpet is also standard." What does this mean? The plastic wind screan thing between the seats? Does this thing serve a purpose? What else whould the car come with, other than carpet?

The "Aeroscreen" does serve a purpose, but Honda doesn't produce an S2000 that doesn't have one, so mentioning it is pretty pointless.....it limits the amount of wind that swirls back and hits you from behind when the top is down. Mine is long gone--and is sitting up in my attic along with most of the carpet. No loss.

I didn't think MY00 came with one?

I believe the "dead pedal" was not standard until MY 02 (perhaps MY01). Thats why there are aftermarket dead pedals around.
Call Braman Honda in West Palm Beach and ask for Willy. You can get a new '03 for less than that used '02. Oh, and if you buy used, take a magnet along with a rag and drag it all over the metal parts of the car. Where it doesn't stick, there's probably bondo because of an accident. Check it out before you buy used.
