Go Supercharger

If you want a turbo, be prepared to spend alot.

Or, buy a Supra

Trust me go supercharger. Get the Comptech. I have $73,900.00 into my turbo S2000 and i just blew the motor in 2 days. I am on my 5th engine rebuild.. GO SUPERCHARGER.. And you will get the power you want..

If it's what you want by all means get it. You said you want to track it, if you plan to drag it then I can see turbo being a big advantage. However for track or autoX, I think that turbo or supercharger will be a wash. With a good driver and equal HP they should be pretty equal. Why, as long as the supercharger matches RPMs when he shifts, he'll stay in the optimal RPM range for the supercharger and not give the turbo that much of an advantage.

If you plan to use your s2k as a daily driver then the supercharger is a big reliability boost. Why well the supercharger is not under full boost alot so the engine is under less continuous stress. The turbo gives full boost sooner, which means I spend more time under full boost and stress my engine. Also consider that most turbo systems tend to have more parts so you have more possibilities for failure. Also are you planning to get a kit or are you looking to do your own custom.

I'm really interested in FI at somepoint, but right now I'm still learning. I'm reading two books by Corkey Bell, Maximum Boost(turbos) and his on superchargers. Alot of good information in them, I'd recommend anyone thinking about FI do their homework. There are big gains but real risks too. It pays to be aware of them. A $5000 investment can easily become $15,000 if you blow your motor.
Just my $0.02. Hope I didn't discourage you, just encouraging people to spend time doing their homework before making a big decision

I'd say this is too big for what you need, too much lag.

You would be better off going with a smaller blower with better low down responce rather than a massive surge higher up the rev range.

I Agree with Alex & CrazyPhuD $5000 really doe's become $15000 quicker than you think or would like to think.

But then again Alex is just crazy $73,900. one word bro "Skyline"....................

The GT 30 turbo will probably spool by 4500 RPM, however you will just be scraping the surface of it's efficiency range. I recommend cheapturbo.com, as they are very knowledgable and they have the best prices I have ever seen. Call them up and ask them what to get.

GT30R would be fine, it will spool around 4K. Dependent on your manifold you would need to relocate your battery. The turbo is very dependable and responsive. I am currently installing this turbo in my S. I have another friend who is using the GT35R in his S and it spools around 4500. With your HP requirements you will be tapping in to only 50% of the turbos capacity. I think the other recommendations with a supercharger application would probably be a bit more ideal for your requirements. If you are interested in the GT30R, you can PM me. I can get you a good price through garrett directly after you have done your shopping.
