What weight oil are you using, 5W-30 or 10W-30?

And where do you live (and do you drive the s2k in the winter)? I am still in break-in period with only 1300 miles but am curious as to what weight oil people are using. I am thinking about going with 10W-30 synthetic after the 7500 mile mark.

My car is in storage for the winter, won't be pressing the start button till the end of march... Have not seen you around the streets of Hopkinton yet. I switched to Mobil1 5w-30 at my 2nd (last) change which was probably 8500 miles back in the fall...

10W30 - Car lives in a warm garage and a moderate gulf coast climate.

I suggest letting the engine break in for 6-9k miles with regular 10W30. I did that and then switched to mobil 1 synthetic 10w30. Since then, I've found the 5w30 gives a little more power, so I use that now, but I make sure to warm the car up very gently.

BTW, climate is warm to oppressively hot.

The climate here is quite moderate, I can drive most of the winter except when it's ugly out. I have not hit the first oil change yet but I have topped oil with Castrol 10/30, which I use in all my other toys.
