I'm really confused. I keep seeing posts about removing the 'windshield tape' but I can't figure out what it is. There is some tape like stuff on the inside of my windshield that appears to obstruct the seams that hold it in place, but that is all I can find.

The reason I ask is because Jason's post ( http://www.s2000online.com/forums/showthre...p?threadid=6556 ) is the first one I see of someone removing the tape, and it looks like there is some crap covering the bar that goes around the windshield. Is that the tape you guys are talking about?

So if you have the tape, the space between the windshield and the roof is black?

If this is the case, why don't I have any?

Are you guys sure this isn't something the dealer was supposed to remove in prep, but diddn't?

It is a black urethane film that is suppose to be on all S2000 except those painted Berlina Black. Dealer is NOT suppose to remove it.

The tape is on the windshield frame on the outside unless your car is black; black has no tape.

So, if I had the "tape", then my windshield frame would NOT be red, right?

That is correct, if the frame is red the tape is off.

Well, my car never had the tape to start with. That's odd, since I can't imagine the dealer taking it off...

Thanks guys, especially for the picutres, I have been trying to figure out what tape you guys are talking about for almost a year now. I'm glad I diddn't try taking anything off...

The dealer must have removed it. They wouldn't be the only dealer to do so either.

They may have damaged it during prep and removed it figuring you wouldn't notice it missing.
