Installation, tuning and dyno would not come anywhere near $3k in my neck of the woods unless you had the EMS.

The AEM EMS is a stand alone computer engine management system. Do the installation yourself and save the money.

I'd go Z06 also. Z06 is a supercar, beats the SRT-10 even, and if you can drive, you will beat ferraris also! (not including enzo!)

Used '02 Z06
ASA cam + 1.8 rockers, maybe some headwork
ported throttle body, shorty headers

But if you have $48k to throw at an S2000 (including the price of the car), I'd drop in that LS6 with a T56 6-speed. ZR1 front/rear suspensions.

Just an idea, though...

Go with CHOICE #1

I would never by a "ready made" car unless it was an exotic. ie Porche GT2, Ferrari. There is more satisfaction of buying a quality car and adding your own personal touches to it. The people who know cars can appreciate a well maintained and high performance "S". The Lotus is making it's intro after a long wait and has done so with a bang. I feel it's in a different class of sport cars. It will turn heads cause it's rare.......but I have to agree with 224 GTS that it's a "kit car"...... some of the angles on it are ugly as hell....... where an "S" is classy from all angles.

for the S...dont forget a clutch....the stocker isnt going to hold up to all that power for too long.
Also, possibly a stronger rear end...but thats just me talking now.

For the kind of money you're talking about the performance of the Z06 is hard to beat. They are comfortable as a daily driver and when I have been on the track with them they are as good as cars costing two to three times as much money.
