Motor Trend is easily the worst of the major car magazines. Who cares what they think? They're still probably in mourning over the Camaro and Firebird getting cancelled taking away their semi-annual "pony car" comparo.

Not that I want the S2000 vanish into oblivian ....But the less the public know about it the better .....I like not seeing them on every corner with geriatric drivers like most Vettes,Boxters and BMW's .Plus I still like the "What the HELL is that car "at every stoplight !!!!
........................................Oh yeah.......F--- Motortrend .........They're a French company anyway!!!!!

Honda, please DON'T stop production.

Keep building S2000s in the same volume that you're doing now. I want to be able to buy a replacement 15 or 20 years from now without having to worry about finding one with less than 150,000 miles on it, or already modded to a fare thee well. I want it to be profitable for aftermarket companies to build parts and accessories for the S2000. I want to be able to find a mechanic who's actually worked on one before.

I don't care it the S2000 never appears in a magazine again, but I hope Honda keeps building them.

Like the "Today" show this morning: They promo'd "Best Convertibles for Summer Driving" then showed two concept cars, the Mustang GT (looks nice!) and the grotesque (IMO) Cadillac something-or-other; a really boring (but purchasable) Saab, a M-B CLK (appx $60K) and the 350Z drophead, which they said would be available "later this year." That's TWO convertibles actually available now to buyers.

Among others, no Corvette. No Z4 (or 8). And no S2000, the most affordable and sexiest of them all (except maybe the Z8).

As for Motor Trend, its staff is well known for turning tricks for whichever manufacturer will donate product. Their "Car of the Year" is a complete joke throughout the industry. Not that Car & Driver (which assembled the half-assed convertible collection on this morning's "Today," is much better. Sigh.

So you really think the new NSX and potential V8 Porsche are going to diminish the history of a $32,000 roadster? That's a ridiculous argument. You may have a point about the long term history of this car, but to say that a new $100,000 car is going to hurt the S2000 doesn't make sense. There are $100,000 cars out now that put the S2000 to shame and they should for over three times the price.
