Default whats the best gear for the s2k!

good day guys... i have been hearing a lot about changing gears of the s2000?

i dont really know so much yet about this but i would like to know your guys opinion.

my type of driving preference for my s2k is good and reliable for evryday use, but will be good for track as well, wether its circiut, road racing, high speed and drag... i dont want to loose my topend...i was leaning more of getting a 4.44 final gear...so yea, give me some opinions and ideas....tnx again and godbless to all.

alright..kool...my frend s2k has a 4.77 and i dont like it for driving more than 30 mins because it feels like the engine is prone to overheating, but dont get me wrong, it was fast, really fast...i just dont like the rpm being so high coz on his s2k with the 4.77, when the car is running 80-mph the rpm is at around 5200 rpms already...damn, it burns lot of gas.

You car will not overheat with 4.77's. You will run a higher RPM, but to be honest, I haven't seen any difference in MPG. If you are not sure about 4.77's go with 4.56's.

i was going to go with the 4.56 until i decided to keep it stock until I could afford to do a round of mods rather than a mod here and a mod there. from what I have read, there is a lot of threads about gears, i decided on the 4.56. If somone in your area has a s2k with them you could ask for a ride and see if it works for you.

Remember, the secondary reduction gear on the AP2 is 4% lower than the AP1. So in the first four gears, an AP2 with 4.56 is like an AP1 with 4.77 (4.74 actually).
