What's the deal? ;(
Hi, all the lucky S2K owners:
I went to the dealer yesterday (12/31/01) and was ready to trade in my '00 A6 for a S2000. I went to a couple of local dealers down here in SoCal (San Gabriel Valley), and the result was disappointed...
First of all, none of them has '02 black/black S2K in stock. Second of all, most of them still have mark up on the car (around $4k ~ $5k). The one that didn't have the mark up don't even have a single S2K in stock (Nelson Honda in El Monte.)
My question is ... is it really that hard to get the car with MSRP now? What should I do? I'm goin' crazy.....

Sorry, If you want one off the lot your are going to have to make a lot more calls. They don't sit long. Tell the dealer "no way" on the markup and if they won't remove it, keep looking. It's worth the effort but they aren't Ford Explorers. You'll have to do a lot more work to fond one or order one and wait for it.
Move to the East Coast
. This time of year (cold!) roadsters move slowly and most dealers cannot command anything over MSRP. It might even pay you to buy one in a cold clime, and drive it back to CA. You've only got the cost of airfare and your time, and when you reach home, you'll have enough miles to VTEC

Rick is right. I just finalized my deal 12/31/01 and got below MSRP on the car and the hardtop, plus mine is to be ordered, it was not even on the lot when I made the final deal!
There were two 2002 Blk/Blk at Hopkins Honda in Hopkins Minnesota as of a week ago. They still have a yellow 2001. I have a red one coming in March that I purchased from them for below MSRP. I bought mine from Brenda Sampson.
