The Type V is right hand drive only, has a variable ratio steering system, has a flat spot on the bottom of the steering wheel and has never been sold outside of Japan.

It varies the rate of the steering Seriously, it means the amount that the wheels turn in relation to the amount the driver turns the wheel changes depenging on contitions. I'd assume that this means (for example) if a 40 degree turn required 40 degrees of steering input in a normal S2000, you could accomplish the same 40 degrees of turn with only 20 degrees of input.

In a densely populated area such as Japan where there are so many people, narrow streets and lots of traffic everywhere, they needed this "quick" steering feature to dodge pedestrians.

I can tell you must have been there before.

I thought I was going to die the first time I got into a cab.
