Default What's up with the BP/Amoco merger?

I heard the commercial for the first time this morning. Amoco stations will be reflagged with BP colors and name. Those stations will still sell Amoco gas but will look just like a BP station. If I ONLY want Amoco gas, how will I know which BP station to go to?

Man, now I've got to send a memo to my fuel management team.

Is that just now happening in NC? BP took over our Amoco stations ages ago. I can't seem to bring myself to call them "BP." I still want to stop at the Gulf station.

Some of the stations still have Amoco colors visible--perhaps they still have Amoco gas?

We've had BP stations with Amoco fuels for a year or two here in Raleigh, NC. There are plenty of Amoco stations left but I see a new one converted every few weeks. But I did fill up at a strange place last night in Clayton, NC. Its a Kangaroo store with BP pumps and Amoco fuels. That's strange enough but last week it was a Texaco.

No, this is the one that's kind of across from the Dairy King and that old Amoco station that was recently torn down.

Well, here in Wilmy we're the last to get lots of things.

I'm a fan of Amaco gas. I'd sure hate for it to become Bee Pee.

It should all be Amaco gas.

BP knew how to do the retail stores and Amaco had the gas so they got together...they merged here 6+ months ago.

wow.. we have amoco gas fans here.... well i am an owner of an amoco gas station and we were just re imaged to BP like 4 months ago... and it is still not complete.. but to answer questions here... all the reimaged amocos which have the new BP helio a/k/a the sun burst... are selling amoco fuels..and the widely popular amoco gold ultimate.. amoco still owns the refineries and the gas terminals.. and will not change for the next 10 yrs atleast.. so have no fears.. as someone said BP is good in stores and amoco gas is like the on of the best so the merger was a good match especially with the exxon-mobil, and the texaco-shell merger happening.. now the old BP stations depending on the area are usin their own grade of gas.
in my area i.e. Northern VA.. BP has it owns terminals and Amoco has its terminals in richmond, fairfax and baltimore
peace
