I always find some kind of mod. (car, home, garage, business, etc...)

The fish didn't like the chocolate strawberry's. I can't wait to see the Mugen S2K at Ashville. What about the bike ride?

Wheels

I hate the stock silver wheels...had to put some 18's on it.
I don't like how the stock tires wear out so fast and have skinny ass water chanels. I don't need a maximum performance tire for my everday transport...I drive too much! I use the 18's with Toyo Proxes T1-S for everyday go to work drag race every now and then...and they last twic as long as the S02's.

And...I use the stock wheels and tires for race events.

Drop

I love the look of a lowered car. So what if I mess up the corner weights! I'm not a good enough driver to tell the difference. I still have the stock springs...if I ever need them...I can install them in a couple hours. However...I am a good enough driver to not scrape the heck out of my car.

Exhaust

I don't like the way the car sounds @ 3,000 rpm's. I need some bigger tips because I'm rolling on 18's. Not much performance gain...I don't care...I'm doing it for style.

Overall

I bought the car to #1...beat the crap out of preludes, integra's, and Si's, #2...give the other roadsters some competition, #3 to pimp on the streets. > 95% of the time the car will be stuck in traffic...< 5% of the car's life will be on the race events. Minus well look pimp...

tims2k-

BlahBlahblah blahblah blahblah blah blahblahblahBlahblah blahblah blahblah blah blahblahblahBlahblah blahblah blahblah blah blahblah blahBlahblah blahblah blahblah blah blahblah blahBlahblah blahblah blahblah blah blahblah!!!!

Oh, wait.

I thought you were Bieg at first. You know how he doesn't read too closely... I thought I could get away with it.

We can ride bikes in Asheville but only if we find some. Is there fishing there too? I told you before the poles don't fit in the trunk! But chocolate- that fits nicely in the bottom...

Wow, lots of opinions in this thread..

Please note that this is my opinion and I am NOT telling anyone else what to do...

The most extensive modification I have made on my S2000 is to the odometer. And of course the most bang-for-the-buck S2000 expense is the $1300 or so I have spent on premium unleaded gasoline. I found early on that full tank gives better performance than empty tank.

Really, I have made very few changes to my car, mostly minor things (aeroscreen, console cover, shift knob, etc.) I'll probably change out the horn, and I have an x-brace on order.

But the things that got me to buy this car are its remarkable engineering, minimalist spirit and exhilarating performance. Cap it off with the fact that it's hand built and a LEV. All of those together. For me (Disclaimer: FOR ME!) it's a package that shouldn't be tampered with too much, or it destroys the package. If I messed with it too much I would still have a car, but I would not have that "package".

It's easy to see that I could spend a great deal of money "improving" my car, with out actually improving it. I could see how, to an observer, that might look odd, or even silly. And that would be okay. And it would still look silly.

Of course I don't care what anyone else does with their car, but it is valid to think some things are humorous. That's not being judgemental, it's just admiring the irony of a given situation.

-Hundreds of dollars spent, specifically for performance, on a cold air intake that decreases performance.

-Over a thousand dollars spent on an exhaust system to replace the new, warranteed-for-seven-years, perfectly functioning exhaust, to improve the sound and increase performance, but owner does not enjoy noise of said exhaust and loses performance.

-Thousands of dollars spent on new rims/tires and exhaust modifications, owner not having enough money for gas and insurance, and having to drive less.

Kind of amusing...

Most of you who are really into modifications say that you get something out of personalizing your car, etc. etc. I really like taking things apart and putting them back together, so I really understand the "spending time with the car" thing. Maybe instead of listing mods in their signatures, people could list the enjoyment they got from making/having a modification (e.g. installed new amp and learned how a relay works, bought air horn kit and met my new girlfriend at the check-out counter, had to borrow my neighbors jack to install my blah blah blah, and ended up saving his son who was choking on a hot dog, etc.) That is a whole lot more interesting and it tells me more about a person than a list of his/her property.

BTW, there is a guy here who had a 69 Z28 drag car...I have seen pictures of it and it was what you would expect. HUGE tires, fully blown and dressed motor, beautiful paint job...very nicely done. I
