Default wheel alignment

hello guys,
pardon me if this is a redundant question that may have been asked in the past, but its my first time to get my wheels aligned, is there anything in particular that i have to know or to keep in mind? are there some sort of specs that i need to know and tell the wheel alignment people? and would you guys recommend going to a tire shop such as big o, les schwab, sears, etc. or should i ask around for a local shop?
TIA everyone!

Get a recommendation from your local s2ki forum on a good shop in your area. Modern computerized alignment machines will have your specific car's recommended alignment specs...those are fine unless you want something specific for racing.

If tire wear isn't a big concern, you could try a little more negative camber.

Ask them for the before and after printout. One time I was getting tires put on and the store asked if I wanted my alignment checked. I said fine. They came at me with an $80 bill and I asked to see the specs.

They didn't change a thing (nothing needed) so I showed the manager and asked, "You're really going to charge me for that?"

They waived the charge.
