Default Which wheel to buy?

I'm thinking wheels.

I've just waited a while and I still am not sure which ones I like. I'm leaning toward the Work Meisters sold by Comptech. I've seen them on Comptech's car and I really like them. I also know that if I buy those wheels and mount their suggested tires (BFG KD's) they won't rub.

Here's what I want: A good looking wheel that I won't see on every other S in Southern California. Weight is a factor, but not at the cost of ugly! No black or dark gray.

Probably 18"- big but not crazy. I'm willing to pay for a good product.

What would you suggest and why? Any technical stuff you know about wheels would be a plus. And yes, you may entice me with pictures.

Hey Garyj,
I have the 18" Work Meister S2R's. I think they are simply awesome. They are made to fit perfectly on the car (offset). The polished lip around the rim is just a classy touch if you ask me. I believe they are just about the same weight as the stock 16's. Not bad for sizing up to an 18".

My only suggestion is to slightly drop the car if going to a bigger rim. The car kind of looks like a 4x4 on 18's without any drop at all. My car is NOT dropped, working on that.

I get compliments on them all the time. From s2000 owners and non-owners alike. I got the wheels b/c I simply love them, but the fact that others do as well just adds to the joy of my decision.

Good luck with your decision.

If your looking for a different rim, that fits all of the above check out Advan's RG. It is available in different colors(white, bronze, and I think silver I'm just not certain)
I have no pics but I'm sure someone on the forum can help.

No black or dark gray.

I agree, the Pic of my rims are with out any changes to the suspension.
I will soon post it with about an inch drop=much much better.

i am a fan of the ssr gt-3s, BUT...they are a bit common. I believe the M3 guys also put this on their car. The only difference is they have that FAT lip on it

Gary,

Very few S2000s have this wheel:

They are lightweight and beautiful. Caputo has some pics of them on a Silverstone if you wanted to see them.

I LOVE that wheel. I'm waiting for the 17s to be released.

I'm enjoying the comments and looking around at the pictures of different wheels. I checked on the BFG KD tires today and got a good price locally - same as Tire Rack advertises on the net.

The only thing about the Work wheels is they are a bit flashy. Those SSR's really look nice. I like all the bolts/rivets (whatever they are). They look cool but I'm not sure if they serve a practical purpose...other than keep the wheel together :-)

I hadn't considered lowering the car. It seems awfully low as it is. Thanks for making me aware of that because I'll look more carefully at that as I shop around.
I'll look at the lowering options as well. Would probably want something adjustable - I think Comptech has something.

Keep the info and pictures coming. I'm still processing data!
