I have decided to buy new wheels, and that they will be 18's. I am curious who else has 18s in this size:

tire
225/40
265/35

wheel
18*8 front
18*9.5 rear

I was told this will keep the proper offset. Any info on where you got them, how much you paid? Thanks

bentrim,

You probably should just go 18x10 in the rear so you can fit either 265/35/18 or 285/30/18.

bentrim,

Nevermind...a 18x9.5 will work with 285/30/18 tires fine.

Check it out...

285/30/18 S02's

11.1 inch treadwidth
fits 9.5 to 11 inch wheel width
24.9 inch tire diameter when mounted on 10 inch wheel width

265/30/18 S02's

10.1 inch treadwidth
fits 9 to 10 inch wheel width
25.2 inch tire diameter when mounted on 9 inch wheel width
The tire diameter should be close to 25.0 when mounted on a 10 inch wheel width

*Stock tire diameter is 24.8*

thanks for the info Phantom.

Anyone else on this board have those size wheels? If so.. what type and what did you pay?

Am I sick in the head to think that I will get a pair of *decent* 18inch wheels and tires for around $1500, not including installation?

I was planning on the Kuhmos (spelling) for $500 at the sizes I indicated earlier, and about $250 per rim...

any info? thanks

Just an FYI, offset is independent of tire size etc...

After attending the Brigestone drive and learn event @ TMS... several weeks ago, I came away thinking the S-03's will be much improved rain tires... but will not come close(in the dry) to our beloved S-02's!!
