Hey guys, just wondering, when is the best time to buy an s2000? As in, how much does the price go down in the winter? Also, how much did you pay for yours?

I have purchased both of my S2000's when there was snow on the ground in some amount, Both were purchased 3-4K below Book price. Summer brings demand for convertibles and the S2000 is and easy sell, especially if it's a one owner car.

 

S2k's are just like motorcycles. Wait until winter, the posers will trade them in, or sell them because it's not a very practical winter car. You will end up saving a couple thousand doing it that way.

 

Buy the car when you're ready. Life is too short to try and time your purchase to get a lower price.

 

It depends what part of the country you live in. States like California and Florida (like myself) where the weather is nice most of the year they seem to be about the same all year hardtop or convertible. No matter where you go Hardtops seem to stay the same all year.

 

I'm in New England and haven't noticed a big shift between the seasons as far as prices. I'm constantly on the look-out for S2000's and all I've noticed is that come winter there are just none to very few listed for sale. In the spring-summer-fall they are for sale and the pricing remains pretty flat. Most people follow blue-book values (with some exceptions). Don't wait for fall thinking a ton will be on the market. It seems like more people sell this car due to life changes (e.g. Just bought a house \ Just had a kid) not because winter is coming. So if you find the right one for you and it's priced right, buy it.

If you live in California like I do you're pretty much screwed lol. It doesn't matter how hot or cold, s2ks are always in high demand and are often times sold for a pretty penny. However, during the Christmas season I've noticed that a bunch go on sale for not that much cash. Mostly ap1's though.

 

But we know what rain is!
