Default When the gas light comes on......

OK, normally i do not run my car untill it is on bare e and the light comes on, but sometimes it happens and the new gas prices do not help. well here is my question, when the gas light indicator comes on, how many gallons are usually left in the tank, and how many miles should i expect to get?

Around two gallons left on my 04. I've never added more than 11.2 gallons so I don't know where the thing will stop running.

Best advise is to just fill it up before stretching it too far.

it would be a dumb design if they built the car to shut off when the gas light goes on.

i think you have like 20+ miles after the light goes on. i would not stretch it out any longer though, just in case.

When the gauge hits 2 bars you should be considering hitting a gas station soon. It's rather notoriously inaccurate at such levels.

I've run on no bars for 50km once though, and the total remaining fuel was just under 4 liters.

Yeah the gauge gets very inaccurate when fuel gets low.

After many trials.....when the gas light first comes on..you have 3 gallons left. The s2000 has a 13 gallon tank, and i rarely see anything over 10.2 on the fillup.

You have about 50-65 miles of reserve. My Acura RL is about 50.

BTW, any octane rating more than 91 is money down the toilet
