When is honda going to stop producing S2000's
Hey guys,
I've generally heard from here and stuff that the s2000 is not going to be redesigned. Its only gonna have 1 generation. Is there going to be an 06 s2000
But my question was when apprx would honda make this annoucement. I was mainly wondering, because I was thinking about holding out until fall to buy an used s2k but if honda announced this, I would assume prices would go up.
thanks

So far, I think they have stopped making them in 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005. But, the latest speculation is that they will really stop making them in either 2006 or 2007. But, this time it really is going to happen. Maybe. I think....
I heard from a reliable source (my brother's roommate's cousin knows this guy that has a sister who knows this girl who's grandfather used to work for Honda) the final time of production will be August 22nd, 2008 @ 4:18:18pm, give or take a few seconds.
I was sworn to secrecy though, so don't tell anyone else!
Seriously, nobody knows the answer. I have heard that Honda fully intends to produce the S2000 for MY06 however after MY06 plans are not concrete enough to say either way.

Do you want Honda to stop making the S2000? S2000 is the best convertible under $60k(IMO) and if all these convertibles cost the same I'd still pick the S2000. However, it's still a $30k Honda.
There are these kids who buy the 350z and complain that there are too many 350Zs on the road. They think they're driving a Ferrari. 350Z is a $27k dollar Nissan. They dont realize that the most remarkable trait about the original Z was not its performance nor its looks. It was affordability. Mass produced sports car with an amazing performance.
Not bashing on Hondas or Nissans. I love japanese cars, especially Honda and Nissan because they make affordable "super" cars. S2000 and the 350Z is a super car in my book. And I'm looking to get a clean used 2002 S2000 sometime next year. I hope Honda doesnt stop making the S2000s!!
