not too sure of your question

for me 100 miles would be too many as i tend to buy new Ss

others have gone over 100,000 miles

I guess it's based on the price you're willing to pay

People can probably help you out more if you post some details about the cars you're looking at...

Personally, assuming that these are used cars, I think you can start bargaining pretty heavily once mileage exceeds 60k or so. I put my car up for sale a while ago with just under 70k miles, and it was a hard sell. There are so many low mileage S2000s that the higher mileage ones are tough to move.

I wouldn't set a strict mileage "cutoff" point. I'd have no problem with buying a higher mileage car if the price were right.

Like most cars, the S2000 will cut off it's miles for you. It will let you know when it is done.

I bought mine used with 5xxx miles on it for an 02. The most milage i would buy an s2000 with would be about 20-25xxx...

The car is going to last, but its all about the resale value, and condition.

i paid $16.9k for an 00 w/52k miles. Sold it for $18.7 with 58k. Just bought an 03 w/600 miles for $25k. My 00 def had some rattles that were not present in the newer ones. Buy the newest, lowest mileage one you can afford. But I wouldnt be worried about an s2000 approaching 100k miles. They were made to be taken to 9k rpms, so don't expect to find one that hasn't been used properly

Not taking them to 9xxx occasionally would be doing them bad. All the internals are forged, its a well built motor.

What model years are those? 2001? Also, what's your budget and how much driving do you do?

Personally, I'd start with a budget (assuming you have one) and then see what you can get that's within it. Of the two cars you've mentioned, assuming they're both 2001 models and equal in all other regards, I'd personally try to knock the 43k miles one down to $18k flat and get that...

If you drive a lot, then the mileage is a less important factor IMO, since you'll be racking up the miles anyway. I put ~100 miles a day on my '02 S2000, and at 73k miles, it's doing fine without a single mechanical failure.

But if you don't drive very much, then I'd say it's worth it to spend a bit more and get a car with lower mileage.
