When are they going to stop making the S2K?
From my observation, people that are hardcore, die-hard, roadster enthuse' have already got the real deal.
Now that Honda is going to grab those who got turn away and people that are complained about torque, bumpy or choppy ride, or even annoying by high rev nature of the car, by put out '04 model that will answer those calls from softer-core consummer and competitors.
I think I've already got a real deal, once in a decade, uncompromising kindda car.
"If you ask me, '03, this is the last and real S2000!"

When the so called S2200 rolls out to the dealerships is when you know that there will be no more s2ks built. I for one, based on what I've read on the S2200, would rather keep my MY2002. Anyone that owns the original "S" (MY2000-2003) should feel fortunate. The S2200 will have more bells & whistles to accomodate a bigger market, which I think ruins the cars original "cater to a specific crowd of enthusiasts" goal.
The original S2000s are one of the last raw sports cars left in this world. The original S should increase in value. I will never sell mine!

I have a question....has it been proven that the MY04 models will be S2200 yet? There has been alot of talk and so far I havent heard anything. Someone in a thread before has pointed out a great observation about it. "If they were gonna introduce the S2200, then they would have done so at the Tokyo Autoshow last month".
I was just wondering since I have ordered one of the last few that will be coming this year (or so I have been told) atleast it's the last as this dealership. I would hope that they do change it so mine is more of a rarer comodity, and that my decision to buy now instead of waiting for the MY04 with the "newer improved 2.2L and lower redline" S. I mean, the S is famous for that 9K redline!!!
Ok, just thought I'd ask

i wish MY 2003 was the last year for the s2k. it looks like the +04 s2k is becoming more "soccer-mom" friendly if you know what i mean(softer suspension, longer gear ratios, lower redline, more torque for the big babies out there, etc).
I read somewhere that they might sell the S2000 side by side with the S2200. That would be cool for the enthusiasts that haven't gathered up the money yet or haven't convinced their significant other of the "must have" nature of the car. While on the other hand the softer bunch can have the softer version.
Only time will tell what Honda has in store for us.
