Default when to use synthetic

I have 14 000 km on my S and I know it is recommended to wait a while before using synthetic oil. How long should I wait? I'm from Canada so yes that is kilometers. Any help would be great. I'm taking the car out of storage this week and I can't wait to

Did you read your manual? It states when you can switch over to synthetic.

I switched over to Mobil 1 synthetic 10W30 at 15,000 km (my 3rd oil change). The oil consumption had tapered off significantly by this time, so I decided it was safe to change over. If your engine has also tapered off its oil useage, then it may be time.

I just started synthetic at 21k. How often do you guys change it?(Honda dealership told me every 5k miles, but I thought it could last a little longer than that).

Take care.

I don't want to hijack this thread but the experts seem to be visiting here. I have an '01 with 2800 miles. Bought it used at 2300 miles. I drive it less than 5 miles per trip most of the time. I don't think it's even had a first oil change despite the age. It may not exceed 5000 miles by the end of this year. These would qualify as severe driving conditions. The engine's probably not broken in yet. Should oil changes be done every six months? What oil should be used? I heard that the break-in oil is supposed to be left in until approximately the first scheduled change. Was that 2 years ago by dates or at the end of this year by mileage?
