where to buy an S2000 for MSRP or below?
The comment about walking is SOOOO true. I got two separate dealerships down to MSRP by walking out. They want to play hardball, but they don't want you to leave.
Use the knowledge that they can and will sell it to you for MSRP and walk if it is not going that way. Your only "give" is the cost of shipping a car from somewhere else.
I paid $500 over to get a yellow trucked down from Northern Cal., but had a standing offer on a blue locally at MSRP. If I had to do it again the deal would probably be the same.
Salespeople want to get as much for the car as they can. Leave them your number and the calls start coming in.
By the way, don't deal with the average salesdroid that greets you. Talk to the Fleet Manager or his boss. If the sales guy leaves to check with someone, ask him why you aren't talking to the person who makes the deals. You won't get to talk to him, but it shows that you mean business.
You'll know you're winning when they bring in "the closer". He's a salesman that has a lot of experience at getting you to agree. Get ready to walk on that guy.
Anyway, I hope that helps.

Thought this might interest you too:
Here is a list of dealers that tried to pull fast ones, like trying to bundle the extended warranty, or make you pay for wheel locks.... say they added parts onto the S when they come stock. Be careful, there are some snakes in the grass. The worst thing about it, it's usually the Sales Manager that tries these stunts. Get it in writing or you might find yourself wasting a lot of time!
Honda Santa Ana
Buena Park Honda
Gardena Honda
Harbor City Honda
Nelson Honda
Steve and Susan

Had a good straightforward MSRP deal in Little Rock. Not too many S2000s come into the state and they move quickly (although there is still the "silver twin" sitting at the dealer. Small Honda dealership and everyone was helpful and cooperative. In and out with the S in about an hour (with the wheel locks on). Had bought other Hondas here so that might have helped.
