It says on Rick's website they are on backorder. Can we get them anywhere else?

Nope, we have them made. That is why they are back ordered, Richmond is making them for us again.

Do you have a timeframe when they should be available again?

You would have to search for this -- but :

I believe Ricks is marking up what is in essence a Kia rear end. You can buy the same rear end from Kia for 1/2 to 1/3 of what Ricks charges. I have read that Ricks claims to offer a warranty -- which if you think about it is bunk anyway, you can take a defective part back to a Kia dealer much easier than you can some place online ...

are you guys making a whole lot of them? I am saving up right now for the gears.

How long does it take for them to be in stock once you order a batch?

Yes, we are making a large batch. The last batch lasted 1.5yrs. This one should last about the same.

That is up to Richmond and they production schedule. We are pushing them now to a date that is sooner rather then later.

You facts are wrong. You should reread what you did, as you missed the major points.

2 things.

first, the 4.57 gearset is NOT a kia/mazda gearset. it's made by richmond, as stated. this is not a gear found in any other car. so, if you want 4.57 gears, the only way you're gonna get it is through ricks2k.com.

second, the gearsets that ARE kia/mazda, such as the 4.77 and 4.44 for example, ricks2k.com offers them for the same price you could buy them for from a dealership. EXCEPT that rick's offers a better warranty than the dealership does, for whatever that is worth to you. mazda/kia will not warranty a gear that had a defect and destroyed your diff, particularly because it was installed in an S2000 and probably not installed by an authorized mazda/kia service center.
